Session 3 Day 4 – Devising, Stage Combat, and Talents Galore!

KidsAct! and TeensAct! continued to do wonderful devising work on their plays today, both of which are really beginning to take shape. Everyone is very invested in figuring out the plot and how each of their characters fit in, and while it is not easy to figure out, it is so exciting to watch it come together! TeensAct! also spent more time working with Gaylan on their solos, and both groups learned the music to Footloose, which is going to be a fantastic way to open our show. We got caught in a downpour while playing on the playground after lunch and got pretty wet, but that didn’t stop us from continuing to work in the afternoon. Philip came in to teach stage combat with KidsAct!, where we learned how to safely and convincingly do back falls, side falls, and slaps onstage. We finished off the day with a fantastic talent share, which featured everything from piano/cello/violin/clarinet playing to acrobatics, dancing, and jujitsu. We were so impressed with everyone’s talents and hope to incorporate some of them into our show!
