Today was super eventful! The morning was pretty normal. Each group worked incredibly hard on their shows! We also caught up all the people who had been out sick! Then it was water day! So at lunch, we all put on our swimsuits and headed out for a nice cool down at the water feature! We even had an extra special treat! A water balloon fight! Everyone had the chance to throw a few water balloons around! We ended the day with our talent share, and we saw everything from the violin to baking! It was a really fun and unique talent share.

Send In the Clowns!
Oh what a day! The Kids kept working hard on Together Wherever We Go, Ever After, and started learned Everything is Coming Up Roses. The Teens continued to perfect their songs, and are working on some featured lines in The Invocation. They are also working hard on their tapping! Except, they don’t have tap shoes! So it’s a soft shoe! In the afternoon, both groups set to devising. The Teens wrote three more scenes for their show, one of which has some stage combat elements! The Kids worked on three scenes, one of which features some Ninjas making prank calls. Tomorrow is water day, and talent day so it should be very full!
Into The Woods, It’s Time To GO!
Today was Fairy Tale Day, inspired by the Sondheim classic Into the Woods, which was just on the Barrington Boyd-Quinson Mainstage! We all dressed in Fairy Tale inspired outfits. We had Fairies, wizards, and even Elton John. He is his own kind of fairy tale creature! In the morning, the Teens learned the lyrics to Broadway, reviewed the combo they learned yesterday, and had a Tap Class! We might see some Soft Shoe in their show! The Kids began to learn Ever After from Into The Woods, and continued their choreography for Together Wherever We Go! At lunch, we were visited by the Copsicle Truck! Officer Derby stopped by and gave us all popsicles, which was a welcome surprise! In the afternoon, both groups set their minds to devising. The Teens began to work on a crazy audition scene full of wacky characters. The Kids are continuing to work with the idea of a magical wood full of some crazy characters.
Together Wherever We Go
Today was a super busy day! In the morning, the Teens began to learn the Invocation from The Frogs in music. In Dance, they learned a combination set to Broadway from Gypsy. Then they rounded out the morning with some improv games. The Kids began to choreograph Together Wherever We Go and continued to learn the words in Music. The Kids also worked on some Ensemble Building with Sophie. In the afternoon, both groups set to devising. The Kids created short scenes about people trying to leave the woods. The Teens played around with power dynamics and created short scenes based around power dynamics in relationships. Tomorrow we will continue to build on what we’ve started.
Phone Rings, Door Chimes, In Comes Company
Session 3 is underway and we are all about Sondheim! I know what you must be thinking, “You’re all crazy! Sondheim is so hard” Well, these kids are taking the bull by the horns! Today, we started the day off by getting to know each other! It is a brand new session after all. In music, the Kids began to learn Together Wherever We Go from Gypsy! The Teens began to learn Comedy Tonight! The Kids started Dance class today with Eden and came up with some super cool handshakes. The Teens had a super productive Ensemble Building session with Sophie! During lunch, we had a super fun lip sync battle because we couldn’t go outside. Everyone who participated gave an awesome performance. At the end of the day, each group go the chance to improvise some scenes around some Sondheim lyrics and we had everything from Aliens to Werewolves!
One Day More!
Today was a full day straight through of rehearsals. It was also pizza day! At lunch ew all enjoyed some delicious pizza from Big Y. The Kids are very excited to present The Case of the Missing Bride! The Teens are very excited to present The Spoon: Dun Dun Dun! Tomorrow will be an exciting day for all!
Happy Grandparents Day!
Today was Dress Like A Grandparent Day! We started the day with a grandparent fashion show to show off all of our awesome outfits to one another. Both groups have finished their shows! The Kids spend the day finishing their story and staging their scenes. The Teens did a full work through and and a stumble through! Tomorrow will be a full day of run throughs for both groups!
Water Day, Water Yay!
Today was water day! So at recess, after a morning filled with a ton of hard work from both groups, we all put on our swimsuits and went for splash in the water feature at the park! It was a ton of fun, and we all got to cool ourselves off on this hot day! Also, it seems like nearly every other camp had the same idea that we did because there were a lot of people enjoying the water feature with us! After our water day, we went right back to devising! The Kids are almost finished with their show, and need one more day to finish and perfect their story! The Teens finished their show! Tomorrow, both groups will be working through their first ever runs of their entire show!
My My, Just How Much I’ve Missed Ya!
Today was a busy day for both groups especially after the weekend! Both groups have finished their songs, and are working on polishing! The Teens also began staging their solos. In Dance, both groups are polishing their dances! Old Town Road looks especially good! The Kids revised their story and are moving forward tomorrow. The Teens wrote two more scenes! Tomorrow is Water Day which should be fun for everyone!
Talents and Popsicles!?!?!
Today was our talent share day and our popsicle day. In the morning, both groups continued all of their hard work in music and dance to keep refining songs and dances. The Kids also did some work on their show! In the afternoon, the Kids played some games while the Teens devised. The Teens came up with an entire chase sequence which is quite funny. Then we ended the day by enjoying popsicles while share our talents with one another! Have a great weekend! Monday should be a very full day!
